2008 Halloween Countdown 30: Elvira Computer Games

Several Elvira-themed computer games were released in the 1990s. I have none so the following images were found on the interweb.

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark computer game was released in 1990.

Elvira III: Waxworks was also released in 1992 but the computer game does not actually feature the Mistress of the Dark. Elvira I, II and III have been collected in a bundle available directly from Adventure Soft called Elvira's Horror Pack.

I had the first game, but never completed it. I remember it being fun, but perhaps a bit tedious after a while. There were a ton of potions you could make, but it was hard to tell which ones were actually useful (which I guess is a good way to add some dificulty). I'd like to have these again, but the store site at Action Soft seems to be down :-( I bet they would play well on DOS Box.

I found a bit of information on the arcade game at the HOL Amiga Database.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the first game and the link.

The first game is one of the best game i've ever played on my Amiga. I've completed it several times, so incredible.

One spell is absolutly necessary to complete the game (a light spell to collect a key in the kitchen).

The game can be found on abandonware sites with the list of all the spells.
